List of prohibited countries to work with IQ Option. Players from these countries are banned to registe to IQBroker.

1. List of prohibited countries to promote on IQ OPTION :

Banned countries are countries whose traffic IQ OPTION do not accept, or on whose territory it is forbidden to conduct advertising activities. These two conditions are compulsory in accordance with the partnership agreement.

There are also some exceptions for mobile traffic.

Please check the official IQ Option website for the up-to-date list of prohibited countries. At this moment look like Spain and UK joined the above list. Portugal players can register but only through official website.

3. A little bit of history about Binary Option fraud and restrictions.

The history of binary option is not great. There was a lot of scam and fraud. Plenty of dishonest brokers closed business and took clients money. Thus a lot of government bodies started to ban risky investments like Binary Options. Where is possible to make a lot of money in a short time there will be dishonest people.

3.1 Australia

Australian officials began a focused effort to control unlicensed derivative providers, including “review” websites, broker affiliates, and managed service providers related to binary option products.

3.2 European Union

On 23 March 2018, The European Securities and Markets Authority, a European Union financial regulatory institution and European Supervisory Authority located in Paris, agreed to new temporary rules prohibiting the marketing, distribution or sale of binary options to retail clients.

3.4 Belgium

Belgium’s Financial Services and Markets Authority banned binary options schemes, based on concerns about widespread fraud. That was in 2016.

3.5 Cyprus

On May 3, 2012, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) announced a policy change regarding the classification of binary options as financial instruments. This was a little bit too much hassle for dishonest brokers. Some of them closed and run away with clients money.

3.6 Germany

Germany prohibits the marketing, distribution and sale of binary options to retail clients.

Binary options recovery services scam.

Please be aware that not only dishonest brokers are the ones to watch out. If you are interested in investing in binary options or other highly speculative assets you probably read emails, ie: “… please contact us, we help you recover your money”.

There is also a popular binary options recovery services scam, where fraudsters promise to “hunt” down the binary options scammers and retrieve the money from them through legal methods. In January 2018, Boston federal prosecutors filed a complaint against Leonel Alexis Valerio Santana and Frank Gregory Cedeno, accusing them of such type of fraud. In August 2018, Santana was sentenced to 63 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay restitution of $105,869 (Cedeno was indicted in March and pleaded not guilty).

Remember to use only trusted brokers. Even though do not invest to much. The best strategy is to put your savings into tax-free or long term pension fund.

You can’t use the IQ Option Broker if you’re a citizen at one of the following country:
